ChatAnony only works if people treat each other decently. These rules apply to every chat, call, room and game, and to every user. They are part of our Terms of Use. Under the IT (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, we must tell you what you may not share and what happens if you do, so this page does that in plain words. Breaking the rules can get a chat ended, your content removed, your access limited or a permanent ban, and serious cases are reported to the police.
1. You must be 18 or older
ChatAnony is an 18+ platform. You confirm your age before you chat. Lying about your age is itself a violation. A minor who uses the Service is blocked and their data is deleted, except what we must keep for safety and legal reporting.
2. Zero tolerance for content involving children
Any sexual content, request or conduct involving a minor, or that seems to involve one, is banned outright. It leads to an immediate permanent ban with no warning. We preserve the evidence and report it to the police and the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (cybercrime.gov.in) under the POCSO Act, 2012 and the IT Act. Content that is harmful to a child in any way is not allowed.
3. Do not share unlawful content
You may not host, display, upload, modify, publish, transmit, store, update or share information that:
- belongs to someone else and you have no right to it;
- is obscene, pornographic, paedophilic, invasive of someone’s privacy (including bodily privacy), insulting or harassing on the basis of gender, racially or ethnically objectionable, or encourages money laundering or gambling;
- infringes copyright, a trademark or any other right;
- deceives people about where it comes from, is knowingly false or misleading, or impersonates another person, including by AI or deepfake;
- threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, friendly relations with foreign states or public order, or incites a crime;
- contains viruses or code meant to damage or limit a computer;
- breaks any law in force in India.
4. No harassment, hate or threats
- No slurs or hate speech about religion, caste, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability, nationality or similar.
- No threats of violence, self-harm pressure or blackmail aimed at another user.
- No stalking, sustained harassment, doxxing or trying to find out someone’s real identity.
- No sexual harassment. Unwelcome sexual messages, demands or pressure are not allowed, and some of it is a crime.
5. Intimate images and AI-made content
Sharing nude or sexual images of anyone without their consent, including morphed, fake or AI-generated ones, is banned and is a crime. We remove such content within 2 hours of a valid complaint and may report it. Do not share AI-generated or edited content that misleads people about a real person, and label synthetic content as such where you share it.
6. Video, voice and calls
- No nudity or sexual acts on camera.
- No recording, screenshotting or streaming another person without their clear consent.
- The same rules apply to anything visible or audible in your room, not only to what is “in” the video.
7. No spam, scams or money games
- No ads, promotions, bots, repeated links or traffic farming.
- No phishing and no asking for money, OTPs, passwords or financial details.
- No betting, gambling or money games between users. The games here are free social games.
8. Protect personal information
Do not post or ask for anyone’s real name, address, phone number, school or workplace, ID or bank details, including your own. Phone numbers, links and social-media IDs are blocked automatically, and trying to get around the block (spelled-out digits, spaces, symbols, emoji) is a violation. Anything you send can be screenshotted or shared, and we cannot stop that.
9. Play fair
No cheating or exploiting bugs, no abusive names, avatars or drawings, and no ban evasion with a new name, device, VPN or IP address. No bots, scripts or attempts to hack or overload the Service.
10. Reporting, enforcement and appeals
- Report with the button in any chat, or complain to the Grievance Officer on the Grievance Redressal page. You can also skip or end a chat at any time.
- What can happen: your chat is ended, content is removed, you get a temporary or permanent ban of your username, device or IP address, VIP is cancelled without a refund, and serious offences are reported to the police. We do not publish how we detect evasion.
- Reports are reviewed by automated tools and people. AI can be wrong.
- Appeals: if you think we made a mistake, write to [email protected] with your username. If you are unhappy with a Grievance Officer’s decision you can appeal to the Grievance Appellate Committee at gac.gov.in within 30 days.
11. If something serious happens
If you are in danger, call 112. For online fraud, call 1930 or report at cybercrime.gov.in. Do not wait for us to act before you go to the police.

- बच्चों से जुड़ी कोई भी यौन सामग्री पूरी तरह प्रतिबंधित है। ऐसे मामलों में स्थायी प्रतिबंध लगता है और पुलिस व cybercrime.gov.in को सूचना दी जाती है।
- अश्लील, धमकी भरी, गाली-गलौज वाली, नफ़रत फैलाने वाली, झूठी या किसी और का रूप धरने वाली (डीपफ़ेक सहित) सामग्री न भेजें। भारत की एकता, अखंडता, सुरक्षा या सार्वजनिक व्यवस्था को ख़तरे में डालने वाली सामग्री भी मना है।
- किसी की निजी तस्वीरें उसकी सहमति के बिना साझा करना अपराध है। ऐसी शिकायत पर हम 2 घंटे के भीतर कार्रवाई करते हैं।
- फ़ोन नंबर, लिंक, सोशल मीडिया आईडी, OTP या पैसे न माँगें और न दें। सट्टा या जुआ नहीं।
- नियम तोड़ने पर चैट बंद, सामग्री हटाना, खाता प्रतिबंधित होना और गंभीर मामलों में पुलिस को रिपोर्ट किया जाना संभव है।
