Anonymous, but in good company
In the Global chat nobody has a profile, a follower count or a history. You appear under a generated name, read what is being said and add your own line when you want to. It is the quietest way to be around other people: no one is waiting for you to speak.
- Reply to a message to answer someone directly.
- Add a reaction when words are too much effort.
- Tap a name to open a small profile card.
- Remove your own messages at any time.
What it is good for
- Passing a few minutes in good company.
- Asking a quick question and seeing who answers.
- Finding people who like the same things as you.
- Easing in before a one-to-one chat.
Keeping the room safe
The room is open to all adults but it is not a free-for-all. Messages are limited to three a minute, links, phone numbers and social handles are blocked, and abuse in English, Hindi or a mix of both is filtered. Reports are reviewed by automated tools and then people, and users who break the rules are banned. You can read the full list in the Community Rules.
Because it is a public room, treat everything you type as visible to everyone. Our guide on what never to share applies here too.

How to join in without feeling awkward
- Read for a minute first. The tone of the room will tell you what fits.
- Answer a question someone else asked. It is the easiest way in.
- React to a message if you do not have anything to add yet.
- Say hi once, then talk about something. A greeting alone rarely gets a reply.
What the room is not
It is not a place for private conversations, so do not swap numbers or accounts. It is not moderated by guesswork either: filters, rate limits and reports work together, and anyone who breaks the rules is banned. The room is public, adults only, and meant to stay pleasant for everyone.
